Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter makes return to the decks with Fred again.. b2b
Marking his first set in 16 years, the former robot appeared during Busy P and Erol Alkan's set at Because Music's 20th birthday celebrations in Paris
Thomas Bangalter, one half of Daft Punk, made his long-awaited return to the decks on October 25, with a surprise b2b with Fred again...
The pair appeared on stage during Busy P (AKA Ed Banger label head Pedro Winter) and Erol Alkan's b2b at around 2:30am during Because Beaubourg, Because Music's 20th birthday celebration at the Pompidou Centre, Paris.
While Fred again.. had alluded to a gig in Paris on social media yesterday, the UK producer and DJ only confirmed that he would be joining the Ed Banger showcase at around 1am, with a poster on his Instagram story that confirmed he would be playing b2b with Bangalter.

The former Daft Punk member and Fred again.. played a number of iconic dance music bangers during their brief back-to-back, including Donna Summer's 'I Feel Love', Mr Ozio's 'Flat Beat' and Bangalter's edit of Chromeo, DJ Medhi and Stanton Warriors' 'Signature/Bonus Beats/Needy Girl'.
At the end of the set, Fred again.. can be heard taking to the mic to thank the Pompidou crowds, calling it the "maddest two hours of my entire life."

The set marks the first time Bangalter has played in public in 16 years; according to Midnight Rebels, the last was an appearance in 2009, at Busy P's birthday in Los Angeles.
Bangalter's last appearance on stage was alongside his Daft Punk duo partner for a live set at the GRAMMY Awards with The Weeknd in 2017.
