Crowdfunder launched for book documenting Belgian nightlife
Out Soon: 1992-2008 will comprise 300 pages of archival material from former club culture magazine, Out Soon
A crowdfunder has been launched to help support the publication of a book about nightlife culture in Belgium, titled Out Soon: 1992-2008.
Billed as the “first-ever" book based around the legendary Belgian club culture magazine Out Soon, which ceased publishing in 2008, Out Soon: 1992-2008 will be published in late 2026 if crowdfunding is successful.
The book is penned by DJ and journalist Koen Galle, also the author of 2024’s Fuse - 30yrs of Making Noise, a book celebrating the famed Brussels nightclub, and will be released by his AfterClub publishing house.

Out Soon: 1992-2008 highlights almost two decades of nightlife in Belgium through the lens of Out Soon magazine, comprising 300 pages of archival material including flyers, photos, magazine covers and more.
Out Soon was launched in 1992 by Brussels native Eric Rozen, who initially shared tips on the most exciting movements in house and techno at the time, distributed to clubs and record stores around the Belgian capital.
After 169 editions featuring the likes of Daft Punk, Jeff Mills, Massive Attack and Björk, Out Soon was forced to cease publication after 17 years as it came under pressure “from the internet”.

“Without a doubt, the magazine is the best-preserved and most valuable archive of the early years of the Belgian electronic music and club scene,” reads the crowdfunder. “A true piece of pioneering work that, with this book, we want to reopen and share once more with a wider audience.”
The crowdfunding campaign hopes to raise money toward the print, production, and distribution of the book, aiming to hit 500 presales in the next 50 days.
Those interested are encouraged to donate, pre-order the book, or purchase merchandise such as T-shirts and original Out Soon reissues. Find out more here, and check out a photo of the book below.
