Cloudy Ku’s ‘SPEED 速度’ and ‘HER 他’ event series returns to Asia

Australia-based, Taiwan-born DJ and producer, Cloudy Ku, is bringing along her ‘SPEED 速度’ and ‘HER 他’ event series back to Asia for the first time since 2020. It’ll be a month-long celebration of Southeast and East Asia’s underground female, LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities.

Currently living in Naarm (Melbourne), Ku continues to build and nurture the label and event series ‘HER 他’, exploring issues of women and gender equality while supporting all who contribute to the music and art communities through discourse and dance parties.

Through the newly-created event series ‘SPEED 速度’, Ku strives to create a unified community in hard electronic dance music, focusing on equality, community and safety. It’s a melting pot of genres, but simply put; anything that is hard, goes fast and is also ridiculously fun, falls in line with ‘SPEED 速度’.

The four-week tour is currently making multiple stops in Indonesia before moving on to Singapore at the end of March with possible additional dates in even more locations.

The events come with an open invitation to all who want to attend.

Ku will be co-running the events with as many local collectives as possible with the aim of building cross-country relationships.

In Indonesia, Ku will be partnering with EXTRAMONIUM for the shows in Bandung, Malang and Bali, while Singapore will see her team up with Bussy Temple.

Both collectives share the same focus on the issues that Ku brings with her event series; gender equality, a fluid place for every genre of music, plus creating and promoting safe spaces for freedom of expression.

As a DJ, Ku is known for her own unique gabber blend which stems from a vast love of techno, trance and experimental music. We can only expect the same kind of energy from both her event series now currently making their rounds in the region.
