Closet Yi channels the spirit of her China tour on ‘Cloudborne 888’
The new EP explores movement and memory through hazy synths and immersive percussion
Closet Yi releases her latest EP ‘Cloudborne 888’, out now on Clasico Records.
‘Cloudborne 888’ is a four-track journey that blends psychedelic textures with sharp, focused production. Inspired by the contrast between sprawling cities and tranquil mountain towns she visited during her China tour last year, the EP is both expansive and introspective, executed in expert fashion.

Each track immerses listeners in a swirl of hazy synths, endlessly delayed textures, and percussive grooves that seem to unravel and reassemble in real time.
While every piece follows its own trajectory, they all share relentless momentum and a tension-release dynamic that’s unmistakably hers.

‘Cloudborne 888’ is built on mood, movement, and subtle flair. It’s raw, expressive, and reveals more with every listen. We expect this project to only grow on us—and likely show up on a few end-of-year lists.
In the artist’s own words: “The piece is a reflection of movement—physically and mentally—and I hope it gives people space to zone out for a bit and wander and imagine.”
