London’s Apron Records spotlights Asia’s underground on ‘Apron East Vol. 2’
The compilation drops October 10 on cassette & digital formats, with release parties in Tokyo & Seoul later this month
Apron Records’ latest release, ‘Apron East Vol. 2,’ is set to drop on October 10.
The London-based label, known for its analogue sound and retro aesthetic, returns with another collaboration showcasing “rawness, late-night riddims and future classics” from across Asia.
The 14-track album features key figures in the South Korean underground, including DJ Jeyon, ISAAC, Hookuo, as well as Apron residents Jarren, Benedek, and Steven Julien—the label’s founder and creative force behind previous collaborations with Nike and Patta.
Building on 2023’s ‘Apron Japan Vol. 1’, this new project expands beyond the Land of the Rising Sun, spotlighting a wider range of artists from across the region and diversifying its line-up of producers.
Accompanying the release, promotional content dropped on September 17, featuring a retro-inspired visualiser by Russian AI artist Doopiidoo, set to DJ Jeyon and ISAAC’s track titled ‘Giphy’.

Mixmag Asia spoke with the Seoul-based DJs and producers who collaborated on three tracks inspired by their love of funk.
DJ Jeyon explains: “I wanted to envision the future of the funk sound I’ve loved for a long time”. ISAAC added that the creative process took between two and three months, resulting in eight to ten tracks, with his personal favourite being ‘Aghh’.

“I also tried to capture that unique, slightly suspicious Apron Records vibes in our own way,” DJ Jeyon adds.
There will also be release parties for the compilation held in Tokyo (October 10) and Seoul (October 17).
