‘Wu Ji 無極 Various Artists Compilation Vol. 1’ expands the limits of experimental sound
Six artists from Taiwan present original tracks that are abrasive, atmospheric & deeply immersive
‘Wu Ji 無極 Various Artists Compilation Vol. 1’ introduces a collection of six tracks that highlight the raw range of contemporary electronic experimentation out of Taiwan.
The compilation takes its title from “Wu Ji,” a term that evokes boundlessness and origin.
True to this idea, the release resists genre boundaries, instead offering a space where rhythm, noise, and texture are continually reshaped.

It opens with ZEL.ζ’s ‘謎%? Enigma’, in which percussive fragments and static bursts drift across a hushed ambient backdrop. From there, Milk Tsang’s《極穹之下 樓閣之間》 channels the density of hypermodern city life through sharp breaks, thunderous hits, and metallic horns.
Bo Yin’s ‘反芻 (Rumination)’ shifts into a darker, cinematic mode, layering heavy pulses with mechanical tones and fleeting melodic traces.

The compilation then pushes further into abrasive territory with ‘East Asia’, a track that begins with cutting static before swelling into deep drum strikes and escalating distortion.
The intensity eases with Lord Bytron’s ‘1 dream, 1 testicle, 48 breaks’, where droning synths and fractured rhythms foster a state of meditative tension. Finally, Lica closes the set with ‘An Uneasy Gaze’, building disquiet through low-frequency pulses and piercing highs that never fully resolve.
