Apple Music & UMG tap into mental wellbeing with Sound Therapy
Scientifically tuned reworks of popular tracks use frequency-based sounds to boost focus, relax & sleep

Apple Music and Universal Music Group (UMG) have teamed up to launch Sound Therapy, a new wellness-driven music collection designed to help listeners focus, relax, and sleep.
“For years, elevating music’s role in health and wellbeing has been a strategic priority for UMG,” said Michael Nash, UMG’s EVP and chief digital officer.
Developed by Sollos—UMG’s internal music wellness venture—the collection reimagines tracks from global artists like Katy Perry, Imagine Dragons, Ludovico Einaudi, AURORA, and Jhené Aiko.
Producers, scientists, and audio engineers work together to create extended, instrumental, or stripped-back versions of songs enhanced with frequency-based sounds for added therapeutic benefits.
These exclusive tracks are layered with elements like gamma, theta, and delta waves, plus white and pink noise, to support focus, relaxation, and better sleep—grouped into three categories: Focus, Relax, and Sleep.

“We’re proud to work alongside UMG and Sollos to bring a new listening experience to Apple Music—one that’s grounded in artistry, shaped by innovation, and designed to support wellness,” said Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s co-head.
