AlphaTheta adds Apple Music integration as part of new CDJ-3000X update

Apple Music has been integrated for use on AlphaTheta's CDJ-3000X following a recent update.

Introduced as part of its new StreamingDirectPlay function, the new firmware ver. 1.30 update gives Apple Music subscribers the ability to access the platform's library of over 100 million tracks, alongside their playlists and Apple Music-curated charts, while using the DJ deck.

Users will need to get set up on rekordbox's CloudDirectPlay and sign in to Apple Music via the software, which AlphaTheta says can be done by holding a smartphone logged into rekordbox over the controller's front panel.

AlphaTheta has also made Apple Music available on three of its all-in-one DJ systems, including the OPUS-QUAD, OMNIS-DUO, and the XDJ-AZ; a number of AlphaTheta's other systems are also compatible with Apple Music via rekordbox on Mac and Windows.

Apple Music is the latest platform to be made available to users via AlphaTheta's StreamingDirectPlay service following Beatport Streaming and TIDAL's addition in December 2024.
