Alinep's ‘Futura 101’ is a masterclass in hypnotic minimal techno
The EP is out now on Dubfire's SCI+TEC Label
Manila-born, UK-based producer Alinep has released his latest EP, ‘Futura 101’, on Dubfire’s SCI+TEC label.
The three-track EP is a hypnotic exploration of Alinep’s signature sound, a rich blend of deep basslines, glitchy textures, and jazz-infused atmospheres, all rooted in minimal techno, that has become his trademark.
For Alinep, ‘Futura 101’ marks the culmination of a dream years in the making. After hearing his track ‘Tala’ mixed by Dubfire in late 2023, he set his sights on crafting a body of work specifically for SCI+TEC.

The result is a meticulously crafted EP that balances raw, underground energy with a sophisticated hypnotic edge. Each track feels like a fleshed-out journey, moving through deep, immersive grooves and intricate soundscapes.

While the entire EP is a study in slow-burn hypnotism, it’s the closer, ‘Flipnomania’, that stands out to us. The track's minute-long tension-building breakdown, which erupts into a pulsing, gut-punch of sound is excellent.
As with all minimal techno, it’s the subtleties that make it shine with layered rhythms, urgency and alarm, and it sums up the subtlety and complexity that make Alinep’s work so strong.
