BIGBANG brings its Yellow Sea to Singapore's Marina Bay skyline

Inspired by the K-pop idol group's light stick, see the architecture glow for the Lion City stop of the < XX : COSMOS > world tour, plus a special edition of the Spectra laser & water show soundtracked by their hits

Marina Bay's skyline is set to change colour to yellow on the evening of 16 October. The colour is BIGBANG's, and the illumination, running from 16 to 18 October, includes design elements inspired by the band's official light stick.

Marina Bay Sands is an official sponsor of the group's BIGBANG 2026-2027 World Tour < XX : COSMOS > in Singapore, which plays the National Stadium just across the bay.

As the Kings of K-pop arrive in the Lion City, the light-up gives Marina Bay Sands, one of Asia’s most iconic destinations, a unique canvas for a light show worthy of the occasion.

The skyline will glow in BIGBANG’s signature yellow, with light stick-inspired details turning the waterfront into a shared celebration between the band and their fans.

With the National Stadium just across the water, the illumination links both sides of the bay, so whether fans are inside the stadium or gathered along the promenade, they can feel part of the same moment: the iconic group and a landmark known the world over, lighting up Singapore together.

At the waterfront, the ArtScience Museum rises in a form resembling a blooming lotus, with exhibition spaces in each petal and a dish-shaped roof that channels rainwater into a 35-metre waterfall.

The architectural light-up covers the hotel towers and the museum together, switching on from 7PM onwards on each of the three evenings, with the group's official light stick as the stated inspiration for the design.

The Bang Bong’s yellow crown, which fans have long joked resembles a lotus flower, has roots in K-pop’s light stick history. The tradition dates back to H.O.T.’s balloon-like devices in 1997, which helped inspire the modern light stick, before YG Entertainment's Se7en introduced a uniquely designed version in 2003.

G-Dragon’s yellow crown, created for BIGBANG’s V.I.P fandom in 2007, helped establish the group-specific designs now synonymous with K-pop fandom culture.

At a BIGBANG show, thousands of Bang Bongs still glow together in what fans call the “Yellow Sea”, and in Singapore the same crown will also appear on the far side of the water.

Back at the waterfront, moving water joins the light-up during concert week.

Marina Bay Sands has built a BIGBANG edition of Spectra, its light and water show, in which dancing fountain jets, colourful visual projections, lasers and lava effects move in sync with some of the group's best-known songs, including ‘BANG BANG BANG’, ‘Fantastic Baby’ and ‘Haru Haru’.

Spectra can be experienced over the water at the Event Plaza and is free to watch. The regular production draws on Singapore's journey to the city it is today, building its story from fountain jets, projections, lasers, lava and mist, carried by an orchestral soundtrack.

The BIGBANG edition of Spectra runs at 8PM, 9PM and 10PM daily from October 16 to 18, featuring a custom mix arranged by DJ KYA, with edits created in collaboration with DJ Zippy from MARQUEE Singapore. The specially curated soundtrack adds a BIGBANG touch to the light and water show, making it an experience not to miss as part of the group’s < XX : COSMOS > Singapore stop.

These experiences at Marina Bay Sands are part of a much bigger celebration, as BIGBANG mark two decades with their first world tour in nine years. Singapore is only one stop on a journey that has taken the group across continents, and it all started with a comeback on another stage entirely.

The route to this waterfront began in California. BIGBANG were first named on the Coachella line-up in January 2020, and returned to it this year after six years, performing on April 12 and 19 as a trio of G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung.

At the close of the second weekend, G-Dragon told the crowd that a 20th-anniversary world tour would begin in August. The announcement of the dates then followed in June, announcing a run that covers 31 stadium shows across Asia, North America, Europe and Australia, and is the trio's first tour since 2017.

It opened with three nights at Goyang Stadium in August, and Singapore sits in the autumn leg, ahead of Hanoi, Bangkok and Hong Kong. Jakarta follows in January 2027, with Kaohsiung closing the schedule in February.

For those heading to the Singapore stop, experience the architectural light-up and Spectra at Marina Bay Sands, located at 10 Bayfront Avenue, Singapore 018956. For more info on the BIGBANG experience at the resort, head here.
