13 pictures show the beauty & thrill of Epizode's Albanian debut
For its inaugural event outside of Asia, the music & arts festival hosted crowds from 49 countries last month
Epizode for their 2021 edition managed to pull off a move pretty rare for the festival circuit, to up sticks from the events established home of Vietnam and move 6,000 miles away to Shëngjin in Northern Albania for a mesmerising three-day festival across September 23-26.
Sets from the likes of Michael Bibi, Richy Ahmed, Lee Burridge, Dubfire, Binh, Margaret Dygas, Guti, Nasta and many more, electrified guests with non-stop music 24-hours a day.
Set across two stages, Epizode pulled out all the stops for its eclectic crowd who had travelled to the site from a whopping 49 countries. The Sea Stage, set in an open space in the middle of a forest clearing was designed by Russian art collective СЕТАП, and featured breathtaking visuals throughout the weekend featuring sets such as Solomun b2b Adriatique and Marco Carola.
While The Shell, designed by FREAK FABRIQUE, was a wooden structure lying in the trees provided an intimate and arresting setting to enjoy the likes of Abelle, Nastia and Anfisa Letyag.
In a statement, Epizode's Festival directors shared their delight in the move, and how grateful they were to everyone who made it so special: "The debut Albania edition was a success; we are happy that we managed to bring our unique Epizode style to the Balkans."
"Some of the greatest worlds and regional artists graced the decks while the best visual artists were in charge of our spectacular stage design. We are very grateful to all partygoers, artists and partners who danced with us all the way."
