EPIZODE announces its 2021 edition…in Albania
Asia’s homegrown festival heads to Europe. Are you?
The headline made your heart race a little, didn’t it? We wish we had better news for fans of EPIZODE in Asia, but while the festival has not released a word on the fate of its would-be 2021 event that takes place annually on the sun-drenched shores of Phú Quốc in Vietnam, the situation in many parts of Asia is grim at best and we know better than to entertain the idea that it could happen for us. Fortunately, EPIZODE has a backup plan…in Albania.
EPIZODE announced today that it would be taking its now-iconic brand to the Balkan Peninsula from September 23 - 26 2021. Set to take place in the coastal area of Lezhe in Northwest Albania, the area spills out into the emerald green Adriatic Sea and is surrounded by blissful landscapes and lush pine forests. The water might be a little bit colder than in Vietnam but the region’s Mediterranean culture and mouth-watering local cuisine are on par with its Asian counterpart and will make this event one of 2021's premier music getaways.
While this edition is forgoing the two-week marathon session that Epizode has become known for five years strong, it will continue with its tradition of round-the-clock music programming wrapped in mesmerizing sunrises and sunsets, daytime activities and other memorable Epizode-y experiences (ahem!). The beach promises to be peppered with otherworldly art installations and creatively designed stages, which you can already close your eyes and visualize as being just like the “real” thing.
A line-up has not yet been announced but EPIZODE has never held back in booking as many top tier headliners as will fit on the flier. And with movement in Europe becoming freer and freer, we wouldn’t be surprised if Ricardo was begging the organizers to play.
