¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U brings the sonic storm to Hong Kong on August 30

Japan’s ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U is headed to Hong Kong via invitation of OONEFIVENINE—save the date and location: Soho House on August 30, 2024.

¥ØU$UK€ has become a revered figure known for his genre-defying sets that blend everything from trance and house to trap, gabber, and rave.

Hailing from Osaka and starting his DJ career in 2008, his journey is one of relentless innovation and passion. A significant turning point came in 2014 when he performed alongside techno polymath DJ Nobu and experimental artist NHK'Koyxen at THE NAMINOHANA SPECIAL in his hometown. His set impressed DJ Nobu so much that he was invited to play at the legendary Future Terror party in Tokyo, marking the beginning of his rise in the Japanese electronic music scene.

In 2015, ¥ØU$UK€’s career continued to soar as he shared the stage with influential artists like Cut Hands, members of PAN, and Adam X. His sets with Oneohtrix Point Never and YPY further cemented his status as a boundary-pushing DJ.

Determined to create something of his own, ¥ØU$UK€ launched his party, Zone Unknown, in 2016, inviting avant-garde artists such as Shapednoise, Imaginary Forces, Kamixlo, and Arca, who even performed live during one of his sets.

Despite facing a significant health challenge in 2016 with a diagnosis of a malignant brain tumor, ¥ØU$UK€’s dedication to music never wavered.

After undergoing surgeries and treatment, he decided to focus solely on DJing, leading to regular appearances at Berlin Atonal from 2017 to 2019 and also a recent Wonderfruit 2023 appearance. His sets at Berghain, Dekmantel, and Movement Detroit have earned him a dedicated following.

His compilation album ‘Midnight is Comin'’ on Singapore and Berlin's Midnight Shift showcases his curatorial prowess, featuring tracks from friends like DJ Nobu, Gabber Modus Operandi, and Ryo Murakami. To promote it, he embarked on a European tour, performing in cities like Malmö, Paris, and Berlin, plus delivering a four-hour set at London’s ICA.
