Yeti Out transforms Hong Kong’s M+ Museum for a night of high-octane energy
A multisensory celebration of all things street culture in the heart of Kowloon
M+ Museum has teamed up with Yeti Out to curate an evening of nightlife programming inspired by the dynamic spirit and ever-evolving realms of street culture.
Though museum curation and sweaty afterparties may be an unlikely pairing, in the unconventional world of Yeti Out, let’s just say anything goes.
“We’ve just been doing stuff we like with friends in our corner. One day, you get a call asking ‘how about you come and do what you do, over here?’” says Arthur Bray, M+ Night guest programmer & Yeti Out co-founder.
The event aptly named M+ At Night Yeti & Friends Takeover spans across three floors of music performances, round table discussions, screenings, interactive art installations and dance performances.
Arthur continues to embed his "Yeti & Friends" ethos in the diverse programming, where the intersections of community and expression are at the center of his crew's street-borne ideas, taking form in pop-up art shows, late night dance parties, radio shows, and graphic designs akin to the crew's overall aesthetic and energy.
Music programming will consist of Hong Kong artist /rapper N.O.L.Y from Wildstyle Records and Boys Choir, Canto, post-punk band 南洋派對N.Y.P.D. who’ll perform an improvised, hybrid electronic set, and b2b sets from the Yeti Out crew; brothers Arthur and Tom Bray, Subez and Fergus.
Dance performance-wise, B-Boy ET and BOMS represent Buddy Crew and leading Hong Kong Alpha Artnity Association in hosting a four-way battle, while Hong Kong street artist LOUSY will introduce LOUSY’S PLAYGROUND — an interactive hopscotch-inspired playground with gifts.
