A clip of the hydraulic-powered DJ booth at a Rotterdam-based nightclub is taking the internet by storm.

Posted on TikTok by DJ duo Mr. Belt & Wezol, the clip features the "world's first moving DJ booth" in action at underground nightclub Toffler — which is situated within a former pedestrian tunnel just a short walk away from Rotterdam Central Train Station.

The booth's movement allows the space to adapt its capacity from an intimate event to a 600-cap party.

Since its opening in 2011 the club has seen a huge range of DJs play on the movable decks, however a video shared by DJ and producer duo Mr. Belt & Wezol has gone viral as the pair are set to play at the club.

They share in the video: “You can start the night with the booth all the way to the front so it gets full quicker, resulting in a better energy on the dancefloor.”

“You can still have a full club, even if you don’t sell full the capacity. This combined with their low ceilings with LED tubes always results in a proper club night”.

A spokesperson from the club told Mixmag: “The hydraulic system, designed specifically for the venue, is a global premiere."

"It allows the club, located in an old underpass in Rotterdam’s central business district (Weena), to adjust its size by moving the back wall and the DJ booth based on the number of visitors.”

The movement of the booth “is nearly imperceptible” they add as the booth is “practically at the same height as the dancefloor”.

The spokesperson explains: This feature helps the club remain lively throughout the night, maintaining a ‘living room’ ambience.”
