Watch Chiu Pi’s wildly experimental style come to life in a surreal video

We’ve learned in geometry class that the triangle is the most stabilized structure in the universe, and Taiwanese artist Chiu Pi has brought this theory to life in his latest music video.

‘FOUNDATION’ was released last week and is one of the edgier songs from Chiu Pi’s recent album ‘LE MONDE’. The style is electronic and mildly experimental with a heavy focus on vocals. While the lyrics tell a story of music, the cult of idols and family, the video itself brings the audience into a surreal world presented within a black and white triangle frame. The video often flips images upside-down, which is intended to toy with the boundary of his world and ours. Watch the video below:

The album also features a track called ‘FOUNDATION’ which premiered in February of this year. The music video includes many typical elements representing Chinese culture, including temples, mahjong, bamboo and the colour red, which is both unpretentious and enchanting at the same time. The visuals are relatively antique, oriental and deliver a peaceful flow of zen. Watch it below:

Chiu Pi is a Taiwanese producer, songwriter and singer. His album ‘LE MONDE’ was released under ROKON, an electronic music label by Rock Records Taiwan. Listen to the full album on Spotify:
