Vault's new event concept RÊVE aims to connect the regional techno community through Bali
The series debut focuses on China's underground scene with Techno Motel & film screening of 'Break The Wall'
Vault launches its latest event series RÊVE next Tuesday, 13 December; the first edition will focus on China’s underground scene through a showcase with Techno Motel.
The team behind Vault has re-jigged the club’s programming to pay more attention to community aspects of the techno scene in Bali — one way they’ve chosen to do so is to influence the island with other regional entities that align with their music ethos.
Techno Motel is a brand of a DJ duo, Moon & MLRV, that was born in China. Their project was founded in 2018 in Shenzhen, based on a vision of developing techno culture across the country. nIn May 2019, Techno Motel held a showcase tour across 9 cities in China, Europe and Russia. Currently, the duo are based in Bali where they continue to push their label nights.
Prior to the dance floor kicking off, the club will open with a screening of documentary film ‘Break the Wall’ from 2017, which explores the pre-pandemic state of China’s electronic music scene; a short Q&A panel will follow, where questions on the changed and current state of dance music affairs can be answered. The panel will include Drumcell and a special guest from China.
In addition to a headline set from Techno Motel, Gato Latex, followed by Archer Hubart will be kicking things off with live sets. And adding to the techno variety on the night, Jakarta-based producer and DJ Ecilo, who is signed to Axis Records and also a resident at Vault; the club’s Music Director Hijazi Dune of label Bordel Ensemble will close the dance floor.
