Japan is set to host United We Stream Asia for the first time this week

Japan, one of Asia’s most established and revered music markets in the world, even by western standards. Its clubs and DJs are some of the most respected and sought after in the world — yet very few people even in Asia ever made the trek to explore its northern neighbor's music scene before the pandemic. United We Stream Asia looks to offer at least a small look into that culture with its first stream from Japan this week.

But first, streams will begin on Thursday from Kilo Lounge in Jakarta, which is also a first from Indonesia’s capital city. See the line-up below:

Then sit tight until Sunday when selectors from Vent in Tokyo step up the plate. Find the programme below:

United We Stream Asia just finished its first round of collections and raised a total of $10,000 to #saveclubcultureasia. It might sound like a good sum, but more is needed in a region where government support has been non-existent and clubs, venues and DJs are struggling to survive the pandemic.

All funds raised go into a fund set up on GoGetFunding and will eventually be returned to the music community in Asia. For an understanding of how the funds raised are being divided, check here.

United We Stream Asia is a partnership between ClubbingTV, ARTE Concert, Clubcommission Berlin, Homeaway Agency and Mixmag Asia, and has committed to uniting the music community’s efforts for recovery.
