United We Stream Asia u-turns back to Singapore, Hanoi & Thailand
DJs and clubs in Asia can now count on the support of Pioneer DJ
Now approaching weekend five, United We Stream Asia has become an integral part of our weekends. From anywhere in the world, we’ve been able to tune in and connect with some of Asia’s key players when it comes to electronic music, with plenty more unique streams coming up and more opportunity donate — because most importantly, the initiative is a means to help and support those that are struggling to stay afloat.
Last week streamed from XX XX from Manila with support from Goethe-Institut, Studio Lam in Bangkok in part with Fête de la Musique and was supported by the French Embassy in Bangkok, and finally Upstairs in Singapore together with Ice Cream Sundays. The weekend raised a total of $1,200, bringing the total raised to date to $8,622.
All funds raised go into a fund set up on GoGetFunding and will eventually be returned to the music community in Asia. For an understanding of how the funds raised are being divided, check here.
This week, United We Stream Asia returns to Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam, this time to Iconic Studio, Somewhere and Hanoi Rock City respectively with plenty of live music in the mix. See the full programme below.
More exciting news: Pioneer DJ has confirmed that it will support the movement by committing to help protect Asia’s club culture. They will do so by donating directly towards the GoGetFunding initiative, which has been set up to gather donations that will be given back to struggling music communities in Asia. For an understanding of how the funds raised are being divided, check here.
“We are honoured to be in part of this great project that aims to support and help the culture we all love," said a rep from Pioneer DJ. "We hope that everyone will be able to return to a healthy and safe life and connect with us through music again."
United We Stream Asia is a partnership between ClubbingTV, ARTE Concert, Clubcommission Berlin, Homeaway Agency and Mixmag Asia, and has committed to uniting the music community’s efforts for recovery.
