UN*DEUX's surprise LP 'Good Guru' is a high-energy homage to his heritage

Sri Lankan artist UN*DEUX drops surprise album ‘Good Guru’—a fusion of electro, house, and South Asian rhythms that reflects both his club-centric sensibilities and cultural heritage.
The 15-tracker delivers a series of peak-time anthems—sometimes deep and hypnotic, other times charged with kinetic energy. There’s even a UKG remix of ‘YOGA MAMA’, a very welcome switch-up executed expertly.
Following suit with lead single ‘Karma’, the LP centres around good times, brimming with personality-driven percussion and attitude-laden vocals courtesy of Keilimei.

UN*DEUX played several tracks from the album during his New Year’s Eve set at Dots Bay House, with each one proving to be a floor-filler.

Speaking on the LP, UN*DEUX told Mixmag Asia, “Before starting this album, I asked myself what I wanted, what emotion I wanted to convey to people. And clearly, I wanted to turn the dancefloor upside down, allow the audience to let go, to forget everything while listening to my tracks...except the music! I built all the tracks on the album with this vibe in mind. There are some really groovy bangers, others with a more hypnotic side, and each time, a lot of energy.”
He continues, “South Asian sounds are also very present. It’s always important to me to refer to my Sri Lankan origins, and I think I’ve really found the right balance on this album.”
