Mark Hand, Trinidadian Deep, & Shaka join the Japanese producer on his TH Pressing compilation EP

Label: TH Pressing

Japanese label TH Pressing present an incredible all-star cast of deep house luminaries on their latest tight instalment, 'Wishes & Memories Vol 3'.
Tominori Hosoya launched vinyl label TH Pressing back in 2014 with a somewhat abstract manifesto of presenting music for “precious persons, things, memories and more.” Over the years, the label has certainly favoured the quality over quantity approach, averaging less than one release per year. But, in a world awash with an incomprehensible amount of very average music, TH Pressing should be applauded for this efficient philosophy, and when they do release, it's certainly worth the wait. They've published work from artists including Manuel Costela, Life Recorder, Takuya Yamashita, Ernie and many others, most often via well-chosen compilation EPs. This method continues on the latest instalment, which showcases a stellar selection of underground artists on a single 12”. UK producer Mark Hand has released some serious quality over the years, on labels including Uzuri and Freerange, Trinidadian Deep's incredible output has seen his regularly release on the likes of Ron Trent's Future Vision, and refined Italian label Neroli among many others. Long-serving Swiss artist Shaka has released on a multitude of labels including Kolour Limited and Local Talk, and completing the line-up is Tominori Hosoya himself, who has graced the ranks of imprints including Blind Jack's Journey, Mixx, and Bucketround.
The entire record is of an exceptionally high
standard. From the freakish synth work and lush pads of 'Questions I
never Asked' to the stripped, heads-down groove of 'Personal DUB
Expression', and the feel-good flex of 'There We Go'. In the
interests of repping Asia to the best of our abilities, our pick to
play you is Hosoya's very own 'Cycling'. Here, mysterious synths
combine to forge curious harmonies, fizzing hats and tambourine
rhythms add energy to the intricate groove, and the otherworldly
top-line engages throughout.
Top work all around, and
most definitely one for the serious house heads.
