Taiwan-based Electronica band OVDS drops new single ‘Sorrow Of Forgiveness’
Combining rock and rap, OVDS created their own sound
OVDS, a six piece electronic band from Taiwan, are best known for combining rock music with electronic elements, namely bass music, but with forays into drum and bass, trap, electro, and break beat. Add Mandarin and English vocals and you come up with something pretty unique.
After they won the ‘Asia Versus Asian Music Competition’ championship on Japan's Fuji TV, they collaborated with the Japanese superstar Koda Kumi on the song ‘Crank Tha Bass’ in 2014 and completed a successful world tour of the U.S., Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, and mainland China in 2015.
Following the release of ‘The Parallel EP’ three years ago, OVDS dropped finally dropped a new single ‘Sorrow Of Forgiveness’ on December 13, inspired by the ups and downs of post-fame life and their experiences with human nature – in four minutes of driving mid-tempo, heavy electronic dance music that combines Mandarin rapping and a sung chorus.
