SYEYL releases euphoria-fuelled 'Temporal Drift' via Krunk Kulture

SYEYL (pronounced sea-el) unveils his latest EP, ‘Temporal Drift’, a mesmerising journey through emotion-driven soundscapes, out now via Krunk Kulture.

At the heart of ‘Temporal Drift’ lies a euphoria-driven ethos. SYEYL weaves arpeggios, synth motifs, intricate percussion, recontextualised samples, and ethereal vocal textures into a serene, thought-provoking atmosphere throughout the seven tracks.

The opening track captures the magic of "falling in love for the first time," featuring a 1950s record sitar loop paired with blissful celestial synths. Track two, ‘Ascent’, integrates chants from Kenya's Maasai tribe, creating a rhythmic and cultural depth, while ‘Ficus’ draws inspiration from —and features—a Sylvia Plath poem.

‘Electric Dreams’ is a uniquely poignant listen, slowly building before abruptly dropping off and disintegrating into nothing, a metaphor for the “complex feeling of finding deep subconscious truths about yourself.”

Our highlight is ‘Seaglass’, a euphoric tribute to transformation. Inspired by ocean-worn glass washed ashore, the track’s lush textures, punchy breakbeats, and shimmering sitar samples culminate into an addictively euphoric auditory experience.

Speaking about the EP, Hrithik Arora a.k.a SYEYL says “My sophomore EP ‘Temporal Drift’ is about the mind drifting to past memories or the future and an inability to stay in the present. While the previous album was about grounding myself in the present moment, this EP is more of an assurance that it's okay to ‘drift' as long as you allow yourself to feel something.”
