In March, Jeff Mills played two rare conceptual shows in Asia that took him to Taipei and Tokyo. The Taipei show was called 'The Man From Tomorrow' and visually enhanced by themes related to space travel. Read the full review here. The Tokyo show however stepped away from a club atmosphere and Mills was accompanied by Hirofumi Kurita and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Timeout has said of the performance: “The piece takes the sumptuous sounds of the early Detroit scene as its cue for an expansive, euphoric techno-orchestral romp that includes ‘Where Light Ends’, created together with astronaut Mamoru Mohri, and ‘The Bells’, Mills’s iconic hard-minimal anthem.” The project is called 'Where Light Ends' and we've got pics of the spectacle above.
