Singapore's MYRNE drops new single dedicated to his long distance lover
The new single drops ahead of his forthcoming EP on Ultra Records
Written and ideated while on tour in the United States and while apart from his lover for far too long, ‘Forbidden Lover’ is MYRNE’s homage to an emotional and deep time. Sticking true to his dreamy and ethereal style of production, the new release is the first single released from his upcoming EP on Ultra Records.
The Singapore based artist first made noise in 2015 with his debut EP ‘Softsings’ on the behemoth label Mad Decent, marking himself as the first Asian artist on the global imprint. He’s a classically trained musician who eventually found his comfort zone in EDM at a young age, and consistently nurtured and still maintains a subtle yet intelligent approach to his melodic sound.
The new release sees a deeper and more emotive approach to what can be considered a cinematic endeavour, and it’s what we certainly expect from the forthcoming EP. The cover art is personally shot by MYRNE, showing him and his girlfriend from LA and Singapore, with the message of being united through being apart.
With releases on Monstercat, Mad Decent, Universal Music, and also Ultra, the new release is an exciting perch point of what’s to come from the Singaporean producer in 2020.
