Singapore loses underground music venue CATO
The club bids farewell with 3 closing parties this weekend
This weekend will be the last to get your dance on at CATO in Singapore. While no official reason has been listed, a Facebook post perhaps facetiously annoucenes that the closure comes "to the surprise of no one" and that a string of parties this weekend will be its last.
CATO opened in mid 2015 with a restaurant on the first level and a house and techno club on the second where it helped cultivate the local scene as well as giving international acts like Heiko Laux, Ø [Phase], and Scarlett Etienne a home to play at.
Although Singapore is down one underground music club, it's certainly not lacking with Headquarters by The Council, Kilo Lounge, Canvas, kyō still going strong as well as the recently reopened Kilo Lounge and Refuge.
See the full post below and visit the Facebook page here for details on closing parties.
