Simon Field teases upcoming summer album with ‘Let This One Ride’

Today Simon Field drops a hypnotic club cut from his upcoming album ‘Need No Music’ that’s set for an August release. Titled ‘Let This One Ride’, the track comes via his very own boutique house label, Basement Records.

Field also ups the ante of his Basement brand and manifests it into a club night that takes place around the city. Known to draw in crowds with its dark, driving house beats and thumping basslines, the events showcase a wide range of sounds from Field’s own preference for funky tech house to other genres such as minimal tech and progressive house played by artists like Monojack and Blichfeldt.

Staying true to the euphoric notion of house, ‘Let This One Ride’ bestows upon listeners a cerebral slice of hypnotic electronica, with a refined pace that makes the two-and-a-half-minute track feel much longer than it should — in the best way possible. As the emotive deep house arrangement resonates, it’s decorated with mystic spoken words that usher you along a dark, pulsating, percussion-driven beat.

“‘Let This One Ride’ is about letting it all go and just enjoying the moment — sink into the music and the beat and let it flow,” the Oslo-based producer explains.

Field also mentions how he’s grateful for the revival of post-pandemic live gigs, inspiring him to create even more feel-good tunes; “Seeing people enjoying music has obviously given me a major boost and a trust in the fact that music can move people.”

Boasting over 150 million streams on Spotify, Simon Field’s cuts have also echoed from the same stage as well-renowned names Todd Terry and Roger Sanchez.

Having pocketed previous gigs at Ministry of Sound, Mambo Ibiza and Eden to bigger festivals like In It Together and Escape, he plans to continue playing extensively throughout Europe this summer — and rest assured ‘Let This One Ride’ will be a pinnacle moment of his sets.
