Hong Kong’s Shimica drops a duet remix with SoMo
‘50 Feet’ is the first single from VIBE Presents: Urban Asia Vol. 3
b2 Music has just announced the release of the first single from its upcoming Vibe Presents: Urban Asia Vol. 3 compilation. Following the success of previous compilations, the third edition features the best and freshest of hip hop and rap from across Asia.
‘50 Feet Feat. SHIMICA’ has had an amazing journey with an initial release by American r’n’b star SoMo in 2017, the song quickly became a cult hit. It then resurfaced as a viral sensation on China’s Douyin (TikTok) platform in 2019 – with the #50feet hashtag eventually being shared over 300 million times. In the remix version, Hong Kong singer/songwriter SHIMICA adds a soulful Chinese/English counterpart, turning the song into a stunningly beautiful duet. The bilingual lyrics perfectly reflect the round-the-world journey of this track of the moment.
