Shibuya nightclub MITSUKI reopens after renovation
The venue now boasts a new dancefloor, bigger sound system & upgraded lighting
Shibuya Dogenzaka nightclub MITSUKI has completed its maintenance and renovation work, which began on June 28 and officially reopened its doors on Wednesday, August 27.
The reopening night featured performances by KENJI TAKIMI, 鏡民 (Kyomi), and Yamarchy, setting the tone for MITSUKI’s refreshed chapter.
On Friday, August 29, the club’s flagship party ALIEN SEX FRIENDS, returned with DJs OCCA, P-YAN, and RYOKEI.
The momentum continued on Thursday, September 11, welcoming Koshin from Seoul. Most recently, the line-up featured Indonesia's Jonathan Kusuma, bringing an added regional dimension to MITSUKI’s curation.

As part of the renovation, MITSUKI underwent a transformation that redefines both the dancefloor and DJ booth.
Speaking as a representative of the venue, Yamarchy shares with Mixmag Asia: “We renovated the unique design of MITSUKI, which surrounded the DJ booth for six years. The booth has been set back to the wall, expanding the dancefloor. This gives dancers a more open space to enjoy dancing and conversation, while DJs can focus more deeply on their performance.”

He adds: “By shifting from a design that often served as an entry point to dance music toward a more classic club format, we see this as the next step—not staying in place, but creating new ways for people to enjoy Tokyo’s club culture and music.”
In addition to the redesigned floor and booth, the number of speakers has been doubled, elevating the sound experience, while updated lighting patterns enhance the atmosphere.
