Seoul Community Radio & ScreaM Records bring ‘ENTER THE K-BASS’ showcase & tour to SXSW London

Seoul Community Radio (SCR) and ScreaM Records are headed to the inaugural edition of SXSW London with a seven-artist showcase titled ‘ENTER THE K-BASS’—a deep dive into the rise of Korean underground electronic music, underpinned by UK-influenced bass sounds and club culture.

On June 3, the spotlight will land on 93 Feet East, as SCR and ScreaM present a six-hour takeover that cuts through genre boundaries and introduces a new wave of Korean artists reshaping the country’s sonic exports.

Beyond the showcase, the collaboration extends into a European tour this June and a panel talk titled Enter the K-Bass: How UK Electronic Genres Are Powering the Next Phase of Korea’s Pop Music Odyssey, digging into the transnational influence of bass culture on Korea’s ever-evolving sonic landscape.

The event will also launch the accompanying ‘ENTER THE K-BASS Vol.1’ compilation EP, featuring essential new producers from Seoul’s bubbling bass scene.

Artists on the line-up — including 7ip7o3, H4rdy, Mar Vista, Coziest, and yunji — represent the next generation of Korean dancefloor disruptors. With styles spanning UKG, jungle, dubstep, DnB, and amapiano, these artists are defining a new sonic language that’s already seeping into the mainstream via acts like aespa and New Jeans.

We’ve had an early listen to the EP, and it’s one worth keeping an eye out for as it “reinterprets Korean emotion and sensibility into fresh club sounds”.

For those eager to dive into this sound, SCR streamed mixes last week from the releasing artists.

SXSW London's Head of Music Adem Holness says, “SCR are the glue at the heart of one of the most exciting, radical and creative new music scenes in the world. They’re bringing some of the most exciting new and rising artists with them, and I can’t wait for people to experience this music.”

SCR founder Richard Price shares, “SXSW has long been a springboard for Korean artists who’ve appeared on our platform. To now serve as the sole official South Korean co-curator for SXSW London—in partnership with ScreaM—is a full circle moment. It’s a chance to show how Korea’s underground is pushing the next dimension of the K-pop journey.”
