Renaissance celebrates 30th anniversary with EP ‘Milestone’
The V/A houses four groove-filled tracks from friends of the label both old and new
Renaissance has released a V/A, 'Milestone', to celebrate 30 years of its label operation.
Over the years, it has hosted names including Faithless, Pete Tong and Gorgon City, and held festivals at stately homes across the UK. It has also toured globally from Australia, to Mexico, to Ibiza, and in its early days was responsible for establishing Sasha and Digweed at Mansfield's Venue 44.
Its 'Milestone' EP is a celebration of Renaissance's endeavours, with CEO Geoff Oakes outlining that the only rules for the V/A were that it "had to feature artists who had either played for us or featured on the label already.
"It’s important this celebration has context and relevance."

The first track, 'Just Think' comes from longtime friends Dave Seaman and Quivver. It's a peak time ready cut, with the duo describing it as "modern but also quite classic".
"Pretty sure there's some old school Renaissance regulars that will recognise the inspiration behind the vocal," they add.
Emanuel Satie provides the next tune, 'Mars Theme', described as one of Berlin's "brightest young stars" by the label. The cut turns tribal drums and a cello into a techno stomper, which is followed by Hernan Cattaneo and Soundexile's 'Survior', a soaring, euphoric techno cut.

The final track is provided by Just Her and Nolan (pictured), specifically invited onto the project to share their trademark electronica sound. 'Shadows in Time' succinctly exemplifies the Brighton duo's sound, with the pair explaining how Renaissance goes "hand in hand" with their harmonics and melodies. The track, they hope, will create "that all important goosebump moment".
