​Raging fire damages Brazil’s Warung Beach Club

Globally renowned venue Warung Beach Club, located in Itajai, Brazil, was seen through social media footage being engulfed in a raging fire.

According to Brazilian news publication g1, the fire started around 10 am yesterday (February 22); videos soon started circulating online showing flames blazing through the venue and heavy smoke billowing from the club.

The club’s primary structure, which is mostly made of wood and organic materials, has been destroyed.

No injuries have been confirmed so far, and the cause of the fire is still unknown.

Video footage of the fire has appeared on several social media accounts of international artists, including Pete Tong and Bushwacka.

The club has also issued an official statement.

Warung is one of the world’s best-known house and techno clubs, known for its open-air structure and hosting some of the world’s top DJs. Opened in 2002, the club celebrated its 20th anniversary last year with Seth Troxler, Charlotte de Witte, Four Tet and plenty more. The night before the fire, Keinemusik was on the bill.
