Rafiki & Squidworks pay tribute to Mumbai suburb Bandra on ‘Good Luck’

Mumbai mainstay Rafiki returns with longtime collaborator Squidworks on a new EP titled 'Good Luck', released through Rafiki’s own imprint, Krunk Kulture.

An ode to the vibrant suburb of Bandra, 'Good Luck' is inspired by the places and moments that shaped both artists’ journeys.

“It’s undeniable how much this suburb has shaped the course of culture and the electronic music scene in our city,” they explain.

Each of the four tracks is rooted in a personal memory—from the career-launching days at Waterfield Road’s iconic venue 'Zenzi', to post-party rituals at 'Danda', and early morning breakfasts at the EP’s namesake café, 'Good Luck'.

The record weaves together a textured palette of broken beat, jungle, breaks, house and more—drawing on the shared soundtracks of their friendship while giving each track its own distinct personality and flair.

A standout release from start to finish, 'Good Luck' is a heartfelt tribute to Bandra’s underground legacy, and has us tempted to book a visit just to see if the suburb sounds as good as it feels.
