Busy P says new Justice album gave him “goosebumps”, compares it to ‘Cross’

Busy P, real name Pedro Winter, has revealed that the fortchoming Justice album, set for release in 2024, gives him the same goosebumps that he had when he first heard the duo's landmark debut 'Cross'.

"Listening to ‘Cross,’ I had goosebumps – I loved each and every note of this record, and I have goosebumps when I’m listening to the forthcoming [2024] Justice album, too," he said in a new interview with NME.

Citing 'Genesis', the 'Cross' album opener, as one of the most important tracks in his label's history, the Ed Banger Records head honcho looked back and inferred that there was a definitive change in electronic music around the time of its release.

"People were like, 'What''s going on with this distortion? These heavy metal visuals with these funky basslines," he said.

"I can only be proud as a manager to work with a band that is pushing the boundaries and innovating like them. We are celebrating the 20 years of Ed Banger, but we are also celebrating 20 years of Justice."

Busy P's comments suggest that Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay are prepared to push the genre's boundaries yet again.

The new album will mark the end of a six year production hiatus, with their last original work being 2016's 'Woman'. 'Woman Worldwide', the remix album, followed two years later, reflecting aspects of the live shows they had performed at festivals such as Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and Primavera during their 'Woman' tour.

Since then Gaspard Augé released his debut studio solo album, 'Escapades', on Ed Banger Records in 2021. Earlier that year, the band were engaged in a legal battle with Justin Bieber, claiming the Canadian singer ripped off their logo for his 'Justice' album.

The French's duo's yet-to-be-named 2024 project will be the band's fourth studio album, following on from the mythical debut 'Cross', sophomore 2011 effort 'Audio, Video, Disco', and the aforementioned 'Woman'.
