Paul Weller, Bobby Gillespie and Paul Simonon to DJ at Gaza fundraiser in London
Musicians such as Paul Weller and Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream are billed to play the event at the end of July
On July 27, over 40 musicians and DJs will perform at Artists for Gaza at the Century Club in London, to fundraise money for children in Gaza.
Launched by Chris Sullivan, this Artists for Gaza event will see musicians such as Paul Weller, Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream, Paul Simonon of The Clash, and Jerry Dammers of The Specials playing DJ sets to raise vital funds to support the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which the UN has deemed a genocide.

The event is set to take place at the end of July, and will comprise of eight hours of DJ sets across four rooms. Four-time world DJ champion and Scratch Perverts co-founder DJ Prime Cuts is amongst the DJs playing, alongside other names such as organiser Chris Sullivan, Howie B, and Aitch B of Soul II Soul.
The last two Artist for Gaza events raised over £34,000 (around US$45,682) for the UNICEF Gaza Appeal, with the first event taking place in November 2024, and the second in March of this year.

On their website, Artists for Gaza stated: “This is not just a fundraiser. It's a refusal to look away.
“It's collective grief and collective joy. It's the belief that art and music can help heal and nourish kids, who by no fauly of their own, are suffering immensely.
“Expect DJs, live music, artwork, and collective care. Expect community. Expect feeling. Expect resistance.”

The organiser Chris Sullivan, founded Wag Club, which served as a epicentre of 80s creative culture hosting the likes of David Bowie and John Galliano. It also was the club which brought in live hip hop to London, with names such as De La Soul and Queen Latifah gracing its stage. Forty years later, Sullivan is still bring together big names, this time at the Century Club, and for a very important cause.
