Oh! Records looks to Thailand for a debut EP by V. Alarik
‘Fingers Crossed’ is a new solo EP by the Soi Dogs member
Lockdown has been a treat for producers who are always looking for more excuses to stay holed up in a studio, and this is especially true for Bangkok based DJ and producer V. Alarik. The output of his latest stint in isolation is a solo EP called ‘Fingers Crossed’ on Oh! Records and is a treat for the ears.
‘Fingers Crossed’ introduces two original contrasting tracks about six to eight minutes each. The first is called ‘Blue Reflections’ and is an up-tempo deep house progression that pulls you in with its 120 bpm flow, bassline and irresistible groove that has you subconsciously toe-tapping to the sunset. On the flipside, ‘Confused Control’ brings forth layers of instrumentals, percussion and depth along with the occasional vocals that blend in with an outdoor blue session.
The EP has already seen early support from Fer Ferrari, Igor Marijuan, Matteo Ponzano, IBIZA SONICA RADIO, Ibiza Global Radio, Deepology plus more. Listen to it below.
Hailing from Finland, Valtteri Alarik is an electronic producer and Bangkok scene stalwart. He is one-half of DJ duo Soi Dogs as well as DARK WHITE. While Soi Dogs follow an experimental house and techno sound, the latter is an effervescent all-out disco affair. You’ll find him regularly leading gigs at venues like Mustache and Glow and festivals like Wonderfruit and Kolour In The Park.
Oh! Records is a Swedish label founded by Andreas Hansson & Dana Berquist in Stockholm who describe the label as specialising in “quality house, deep house and old school flavoured disco”, a fitting imprint for Alarik’s latest EP.
‘Fingers Crossed’ was released on June 15 on Oh! Records.
