NOTHING has introduced the Headphone (a), an over-ear model designed with a focus on practical audio technology and long listening sessions.

Its hardware and software features are built to support both everyday listening and more detailed playback.

Wireless playback supports Hi-Res Audio and the LDAC codec, enabling higher-bitrate audio transmission over Bluetooth. Compared with standard wireless audio formats, LDAC carries more sound data, helping maintain clarity across a wider range of frequencies during streaming.

At the core of the headphones is a 40mm titanium-coated dynamic driver designed to preserve clarity while delivering powerful bass output of up to 110 decibels.

Comfort and durability have also been considered in the design. Weighing around 310 grams, the headphones use breathable memory-foam ear cushions intended for extended listening sessions.

Claimed to be “hot enough to make your ex jealous,” the headphones feature NOTHING’s signature transparent design, showcasing the inner mechanics of the device.

Alongside classic black and white finishes, the company has introduced pink and yellow colourways for a more playful look. The yellow variant will be released as a limited edition starting April 6.

Beyond aesthetics, the design emphasises practical usability by allowing users to control audio quickly without checking a screen. This is done by incorporating three tactile controls on the ear cup: a Roller for adjusting volume and playback, a Paddle for skipping or rewinding tracks, and a Button that can trigger programmable functions.

Battery endurance is another key feature, offering up to 135 hours (around five days) of playback on a single charge. A quick-charge function can also provide roughly five hours of listening time from just a five-minute charge, allowing short charging periods to restore usable battery life.

For sound management, the headphones use adaptive active noise cancellation that automatically adjusts to surrounding noise levels. A three-microphone environmental noise cancellation system improves voice clarity during calls.

Through the Nothing X app, users can also customise equaliser settings and access features such as Channel Hop and a remote camera shutter.

Priced at USD199, NOTHING’s Headphone (a) is available for pre-order here.
