Fashion label NO28 pays tribute to creative figures of Death Stranding game

Paying a double tribute to two artists responsible for the action game Death Stranding, French fashion label NO28 has pieced together a matching capsule set titled Bridges.

Developed by Kojima Productions in 2019, the Death Stranding game follows a post-cataclysmic period where creatures populate Earth. In it, Hollywood actor Norman Reedus plays protagonist Sam Porter who works for a company called ‘BRIDGES’ (of course…).

Known for its premium everyday gear that provides comfort along with neutral hues, NO28’s chill aesthetics can be seen in this two-piece collection, comprising the ‘Bridges NO 132 Jacket’ and the ‘Bridges NO 145 Pants’.

The ‘Bridges NO 132 Jacket’ features an adjustable hood of both vertical and horizontal drawstrings, two air holes under the armpits that can be zipped, four central pockets and rubber bands on the holders and elbows for security and comfort for a price of US$243.

As for the ‘Bridges NO 145 Pants’, the waistband includes an adjustable drawstring, four pockets and rubber bands on the knees and coccyx for security and comfort at US$199.

According to NO28, the overall fit and look were inspired by hours of gameplay with the main character and Yoji Shinkawa’s illustrations.

The drop is dedicated to the Death Stranding creator himself, Hideo Kojima, plus the late Ryan Karazija — singer of Low Roar, an Icelandic band who did the OST for the game.

The fashion brand notes that Hideo’s “complex scenarios” have stood against time through minimalistic and technical designs which speak to their newest designs.

Via this limited-edition set, they also give a nod to Ryan’s “captivating voice tinged with melancholy, calm and serenity”.

Both pieces are created with water and windproof materials that are only featured in one colour — black.

The game itself has won multiple awards such as PC Game of the Year in 2020, Excellence in Musical Score at the SXSW Gaming Awards in 2020, Best Game Direction in 2019 and many more.

Just last month, Kojima Productions and A24 announced that the game is in the works for a live-action film.
