MYRNE drops first single after signing to Astralwerks
‘What Can I Do’ is a result of deep introspection from the Singaporean artist
Singaporean artist MYRNE has easily solidified himself as one of the region’s most sought after producers, and a recent signing with Astralwerks through Universal Music Singapore ensures his future productions will have a mainstay in Asia.
From a growing track record of releases on numerous labels to headlining stages at some of Asia’s most hyped festivals, MYRNE’s fan base now includes attention from across the industry — his latest chapter unfolds with a debut release from his new signing with Astralwerks, ‘What Can I Do’.
Released just last week, ‘What Can I Do’ is telling of the times when during this formidable period, it really takes a deep and insightful reminder to pull us out of harsher moments. MYRNE has proved that even during these difficult times with no shows and tours, that continues to grow as an artist and human.
MYRNE explains, “Most of my inspiration comes from everyday life. Nestled in these songs are sounds that keep the world and myself moving. I know it's been a while, but I couldn't be more grateful to be back. I was really scared of making music for a long time, out of a fear of mediocrity and never surpassing my past work. But since then I've erased everything I know, and I've fallen in love with the process again - just singing and dancing to 8 bar loops for days. ‘What Can I Do’ was the first song I wrote out of that.”
Also realising that his worth in music is far above mediocrity, Astralwerks’ signing of the Singaporean artist is telling of the label’s excitement and intentions.
