Moby to donate profits from Coachella performance to animal rights organisations

Moby has made a pledge to donate 100% of profits made from his Coachella performances to leading animal rights organisations.

The US musician and prominent animal rights activist is set to perform at the California festival’s second weekend tonight, April 17, following a standout show on the Mojave stage last Friday.

During his performance, Moby played classic tracks including 'Go', 'Thousand', and 'Porcelain', and also brought out singer, songwriter and Gabriels member Jacob Lusk to the stage.

Moby has now said that he will donate any profits made from both of his performances to four organisations: Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, Mercy For Animals, The Humane League, and Direct Action Everywhere.

"My main job in life is working as an animal rights activist, and to that end, my hope is to use the revenue and attention from my Coachella show to draw attention to, and financially support, animal rights organisations," he explained.

It follows a pledge to donate 100% of profits from his sold-out 2024 European tour to animal rights organisations after a years-long commitment to the cause.

Moby’s 2026 Coachella performances mark his first shows at the festival since 2013. He's also the only act on the line-up who also appeared on the festival’s debut bill in 1999.
