Mixmag Asia Radio: Pure dancefloor energy from Singapore’s Rah

She likes basslines, melodies, groove and funk but not necessarily in that order. Rah is certainly a playful artist both in her approach to selection, as she is with her execution of a dance floor. We still remember her funkalicious set from Wonderfruit 2019 at the Neremit Stage, during the early part of Sunday — we couldn’t have asked for a better mood-setter that lasted till Monday morning.

Rah is a versatile DJ who has a musical spectrum that runs from hip hop and soul to Asian rare groove and Afro. She takes a wide and global approach to her sound, and it’s outstandingly evident in her DJ sets. To add to her versatility, she spearheads two independent movements in Singapore, record label Darker Than Wax and music and events collective, Revision Music.

Her sounds have been heard on the airwaves of Worldwide FM, Red Bull Music Radio and Radio Raheem, but today she dedicates her taste-making skills to Mixmag Asia Radio. Rah's set sends an uplifting message to her “friends and fiends worldwide” because she misses going out and dancing. Hit play below to embrace the powerful message that music can transcend and let’s dance together for the next 60 minutes with Rah.
