Masaya Fantasista's instrumental stands out in Indigenous Resistance's defiant compilation

Indigenous Resistance delivers a bold statement with ‘IR 71 Dreams Are Dub But Genocide Is A Reality’, a compilation that fuses politically charged narratives with eclectic dub soundscapes.

Accompanied by the e-book A Mongolian Dub Sublime, this release is a tribute to global resistance, weaving together sounds, stories, and cultures from Mongolia to Uganda, and beyond.

One standout track is ‘Dreams Are Dub But Genocide Is A Reality (Masaya Fantasista Instrumental)’, produced by Masaya Fantasista of the Jazzy Sport crew.

It’s a rich, seven-minute journey that blends jazzy breakbeats, syncopated percussions, and a muted electronic bass drum that grounds the rhythm. Lush piano chords enter at 1:30, their lightness balanced by airy strings and fluttering notes. The result? A track that’s as daring in sound as it is in message, standing as a sonic symbol of resistance against political apathy.

The compilation, recorded across Mongolia, Japan, and Uganda, is as much a sonic exploration as a political statement and doesn’t shy away from its weighty themes.

Tracks like ‘After The Apathy About Gaza Genocide They Rained Down Bombs On Lebanon (Soy Sos Rework)’ reflect the raw urgency of global conflicts, while contributions from artists like Dhangsha, Ramjac, and Ras Isaacs add layers of experimental bass, traditional instruments, and multilingual vocals.
