Opener titular track 'The Dissent' is a hypnotic affair, with a bubbling atmosphere and ominous synths overlaying a hearty rhythm. Following on, 'The Sonic Assassin' takes a skittish approach with combinations of shaking hats and distortion bringing the cut to a hearty crescendo.

Closing the record on a tripped-out affair, 'The Drama' employs wonky vocals alongside a dreamy psychedelic backdrop, overarchingly reminiscent of an early-morning dancefloor moment.

“Ali [Dubfire] is such a legend and has an immense history," Slater tells Mixmag on working with Dubfire. "We initially met in Washington a couple of years ago and he was really into remixing 'Rip the Cut'; after that we got talking about a collab.

"I feel honoured working with him and the process had a natural flow to it which always shows in the final music I think."
