Live Nation ventures into mindfulness with new app

Live Nation has just launched a new app called ‘Mindful Nation’ that blends music and meditation.

The commitment to wellness and mental health is currently at its peak, with more and more individuals embracing it—and now companies have followed suit. After all, having a ‘me’ day is no longer considered taboo...

Live Nation’s new mindfulness app offers a service similar to already-popular apps of the same kind such as Headspace and Calm.

‘Mindful Nation’ provides over 1,000 classes that include pre-recorded and on-demand trainer-led sessions on a daily basis. The sessions assist with daily life activities, sleep, ‘breathe with the beat’ exercises and meditation that is catered to an array of different genres of music.

Originally the app functioned as a B2B platform that was created by Niamh McCarthy—former artist manager of Madonna and U2. She had personally experienced burnout from touring and went on to study how meditation, mindfulness, breathwork and yoga can aid those in the music industry.

“McCarthy has made it her mission to bring mindfulness and meditation to the music business and now sees a massive breakthrough with the easy-to-use and intuitive Mindful Nation app,” mentions Live Nation.

From there, the company took over and offered it to all their employees for free. Now it’s available to the masses at USD4.99 for the premium Mindful Nation Plus subscription.

“We first launched Mindful Nation as a program for our employees, and it’s great to see Niamh now bringing the benefits of mindfulness to touring artists and crew across our industry, as well as music fans,” adds Live Nation President and CEO, Michael Rapino.

Back in March, a book was released that focused on the mental health of those who frequently tour, with personal accounts from Four Tet, Nile Rodgers, Pharoahe Monch and more.

Currently available only on iOS, you can download Mindful Nation from the App Store here.
