The Chemical Brothers are back with ‘The Darkness That You Fear’, their first release since 2019’s Grammy-winning ‘No Geography’ album.

The duo have since launched Radio Chemical, a new station on Sonos Radio where they will be bringing a selection of their all-time favourite tracks.

Released via Republic Records, ‘The Darkness That You Fear’ is a trip into the pair’s psychedelic production, featuring vocals infused with The Chemical Brothers’ sound.

“Tom and Ed once again prove they are pioneers of the genre with this uplifting track that is perfectly timed as the world comes out of darkness into light and colour.” stated Republic Records’ Glenn Mendlinger.

The track is also accompanied by a new video created by Bristolian artist Ruffmercy.

The Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands commented: “‘The Darkness That You Fear’ is a hopeful piece of music. When we found the combination of the different voices worked set to the flow of the music, it made us feel optimistic—like it was something we wanted to share.”

A limited edition 12” LP of ‘The Darkness That You Fear’ will be hitting record shops this coming Record Store Day on June 12.

Despite ongoing concerns of festival cancellation in the UK, those that are still set to go ahead include The Chemical Brothers headlining TRNSMT in Glasgow and Cheshire’s Creamfields.

The duo also recently contributed a closing installation at the London Design Museum, ‘Electronic - From Kraftwerk to Chemical Brothers’, which is the most popular exhibition ever held at the cultural building.
