Lisa becomes first Asian soloist to win Best Pop at MTV VMAs
The BLACKPINK member's fourth VMA win came just days after the release of her Tuktuk Radio session in Bangkok
Lisa from the K-pop group Blackpink won Best Pop at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27, which took place in Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
This historic win marks her as the first Asian soloist to win under that category; BTS as a K-pop group previously won in 2020.
It was the first award presented that evening, and she won for her track ‘Dream’ featuring Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi.
Other contenders in the Best Pop category included Ariana Grande, Charli xcx, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae and Taylor Swift.

As reported on Billboard, Lisa accepted the award in tears, thanking MTV, her collaborators and her fans, known as Lilies: "All those late-night dreams brought me here today," she said.

The is her fourth VMA win; she previously won Best K-Pop as a solo artist in 2022, 2024 and 2025.Later that night, she performed her new track ‘SaWaDiKa’ on television for the first time.
A few days before the VMAs, Tuktuk Radio released a special video of her performing the song while riding through the streets of Bangkok. Watch it below.
