Laundromat hosts charity event in Bali for Flores earthquake victims
The donation-based night on September 19 aims to raise funds for communities affected by the magnitude 7.7 quake in August
Bali-based collective Laundromat, together with Ruang Bavr, Fhunked, Obscura and Ganti, is bringing together local DJs, artists and collectives for a charity event supporting communities affected by the recent earthquakes in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.
Taking place on September 19 at Bali's Amplitude Skatepark, the event will bring together hip hop, electronic music and live performances, with participating artists appearing voluntarily.
The line-up includes Laundromat, Ruang Bavr, Fhunked, Gozal, Yuan, Blxkboyz, Pluto Santos and Kai Boy Digital, with Laundromat opening and closing the night.
The event aims to aid those affected by the magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck off Flores on August 15, killing at least 47 people in the initial days following the disaster.
According to Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency, the earthquake struck at a depth of around 15 kilometres and was triggered by thrust-fault movement along the Flores Back-Arc Thrust.

A second magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Flores on August 20, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
Thousands of residents were subsequently forced into temporary shelters as rescue and relief efforts continued. According to the Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency, the number of displaced people reached 110,785 as of August 21.

For the September 19 event, entry will be donation-based, starting at IDR50,000, with 100% of ticket proceeds going towards people affected by the disaster in Flores.
Laundromat is working with Yayasan Galang Bulan as its charity partner to manage the donations (which will be open until September 25) and their distribution.
