km5 unveils Neon Collection with transparent Bluetooth CD players
The drop adds glowing finishes, Bluetooth support & new accessories to the brand’s Instant Disk Audio line-up
Japanese audio brand km5 has introduced its Neon Collection, released on April 1.
Operating in a niche between audio hardware and spatial design, km5 focuses less on raw technical performance and more on how music is placed and experienced within a space. Its products are designed to shape both sound and visual presence in a room.
This philosophy is reflected in the Instant Disk Audio Cp1, a compact CD player that treats physical media not just as a sound source, but also as a visual object.
Its counterpart, the Cp2, expands on this concept with built-in speakers, allowing for wireless listening without additional equipment.
Both devices can also be wall-mounted using a dedicated bracket sold by km5, reinforcing their role as part of an interior setup rather than standalone gadgets.
The Neon Collection introduces updated versions of km5’s Instant Disk Audio line, including the Cp1 and Cp2 players as well as the Hp1 headphones.
The update emphasises transparent materials and high-visibility finishes, exposing internal components so that the construction of each device becomes part of the user experience.
At the core of the lineup, the Cp1 is built around a simple but deliberate concept. It supports standard CDs and MP3 playback, features Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless output, and runs on a rechargeable battery that provides several hours of use.
Its frame-like design allows the CD jacket to be displayed during playback, turning album artwork into a fixed part of the listening setup.

Internally, the device includes shock-resistant memory and a minimal LED display, maintaining a clean interface while preserving portability.

Rather than introducing new functionality, the Neon Collection extends the existing concept through material and color. For example, the Cp1 Neon Yellow variant is described on the company’s website as “a futuristic colour variation with a clear yellow texture and edges that appear to glow.”
The release also includes a range of accessories, such as an acrylic case, a charging stand, and replacement earpads available in blue, red, and yellow.
