Dive into Kaito's ‘Collection’ and experience the soothing power of sound

Kaito, the brainchild of Hiroshi Watanabe, marks a return to form with his latest release ‘Collection’ via InFiné.

This also marks him as the first Japanese artist to join the label.

In ‘Collection’, he captures the essence of ambient music in its purest, most introspective state.

Initially dropped as a series of EPs and singles on Bandcamp between 2020 and 2022, the tracks have now been remastered by German sound architect Rashad Becker and given a full vinyl release via InFiné.

‘Collection’ comprises nine tracks, piecing together works composed during the COVID-19 pandemic—a time when Hiroshi, like many artists, turned inward to navigate the chaos of the world.

Drawing from the ambient and melodic textures that have become synonymous with his name, ‘Collection’ radiates a spiritual energy, almost therapeutic in its simplicity.

From the dreamy opening notes of ‘Silent Cloud’ to the lush, cinematic textures of ‘Nexus 2 (Beatless Version)’, Kaito weaves together subtle, minimal synths with harmonic progressions rooted in jazz and classical music, creating soundscapes that are at once hypnotic and deeply meditative.

The sustained synths and reverberating soundscapes invite listeners to pause, breathe, and immerse themselves in serene, introspective moments.

Purchase ‘Collection’ by Kaito when it releases tomorrow (September 13) here.
