JakoJako releases new EP, 'Segmente'
"Usually I look for these kind of tracks to spice up tool based techno sets. I need them to add emotional moments."
JakoJako has released her new EP, 'Segmente' on July 26.
Across the four tracker, the Berlin-based DJ and modular synthesist meanders avenues of glitched-out, other-worldly techno, with each track a product of sounds played in her live show.

Of particular note is whimsical EP cut 'Introspektion', shared last month. On her Instagram JakoJako noted its demand, writing: "Over the years I got a lot of track ID requests. Maybe someone recognises this one ;)"
“The tracks on my new EP are all inspired by the live sets I played in 2023,” she tells Mixmag. “They began as live tracks in my sets, and the style reflects the music I purchase for my DJ sets. Usually I look for these kind of tracks to spice up tool based techno sets. I need them to add emotional moments - with pads, dreamy sounding, soothing but still danceable. Perfect for closings or when the sound is getting too hard.”
'Segmente' EP follows her 'Verve' EP and full-length album 'Metamorphos', and strengthens the musician's reputation for creating such intricate, unique soundscapes. Her output follows an initial urge to play with sound developing into in-depth study, playing regular live sets in Berlin, a Berghain residency and a position at Berlin's electronic music institution SchneidersLaden.
